PTV - The Iranian Football
Federation (IFF) says Sunday's match between Iran's national soccer team and
Kuwait will be slightly delayed.
According to the IFF, Iran will face Kuwait at home in their final fixture
of pre-qualifying group for the South Africa 2010 World Cup on June 22 at
8:30 pm local time.
The game was originally scheduled to kick off at 5:00 pm.
The match -- which is now more a formality and a practice game -- will be
held at Tehran's vast 100,000-seater Azadi Stadium, the largest arena in
Iran.
Asian heavyweights Iran thrashed Syria 2-0 at the al-Abbasiya stadium in
Damascus securing their qualification for the next phase of the South Africa
Cup.
Iran and Kuwait ended in a 2-2 draw on March 27.
Iran now leads Group 5 with 9 points, followed by the UAE with 8 points.
Syria currently stands third with 5 points while Kuwait is at the bottom of
the group with just 4 points.
