Saman Ghoddos

DailyCannon.com - Östersunds FK striker Saman Ghoddos says they’re confident of getting a result at home to Arsenal due to the unique playing conditions.

Ghoddos spoke to Sydsvenskan after the Europa League last-32 draw pitting the two clubs against each other in February’s clash.

The 24-year-old told the Swedish outlet: “We know how good we are at home. On an artificial pitch, and with the cold. There are not many who are used to it,” reports Sport Witness.

Arsenal have dealt with artificial pitches before, as just last year the Gunners made the trip to Sutton United in the FA Cup, winning the match 2-0. However, the cold is something most of the players are unlikely to be ready for.

Many of Arsenal’s current first-team squad come from countries and leagues that are even hotter than England, so coming to play in the Premier League was already a bit of a shock to the system.

Hector Bellerín recently admitted that he missed the weather back in Spain, as they weren’t getting enough sun here.

Ghoddos has clearly adapted well, as the Iranian has scored 19 goals and provided 12 assists in 41 matches in all competitions.

Östersund’s domestic season is now over, as it runs to November, presumably due to just how cold it gets in the winter months.

Hopefully Arsenal can adapt to the conditions in February.
