MNA - Iran’s football veteran Ali Karimi hit out at the Iranian media over reports that he has set conditions for coming back to the national team.

Speaking at the news conference after Persepolis–Peykan match on Sunday, Karimi said, “Iranian media quoted me as saying that I’ve set conditions to return to the national team. Who can set conditions for his national team?”

“I ask Mr. Mayelikohan (Iran’s coach) to invite the best players to the team. Iran has three vital matches in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers and all of us have to make efforts to get good results in the matches. I repeat again, I am fully ready to return to the national team,” Karimi added.

Persepolis beat Peykan 2-1 in the 32nd week of the Iran Professional League on Sunday at the Azadi Stadium. Karimi had a key role in the match, setting up both goals of his team.

“Peykan didn’t deserve to lose against us. I am so glad that I helped my team beat Peykan and believe that I played well in two scenes which resulted in our two goals,” Karimi concluded.
