ATHENS2004 - Argentina and Iran drew 2-2 in the second match of the first day of Group A in the 7-a-side Football Tournament of Athens 2004 Paralympic Games. Iranians were leading with two goals on the 48th minute, but Argentinians managed to tie and grabbed the point.

Iran took the lead on the 8th minute with a shot inside the penalty box by Seyed Nasser HOSSEINI FAR (IRI).

The Argentinians tried to react, but Mario SOSA (ARG) hit the left post on the 13th minute.

One minute later, Abdolreza KERIMIZADEH's (IRI) diagonal shot sent the ball a little wide off the left post.

At the beginning of the second half, in the 31st minute, the Argentinian goalkeeper Gustavo NAHUELQUIN (ARG) deflected Seyed Nasser HOSSEINI FAR's shot, sending it on the crossbar.

Iranians raised the score to 2-0 on the 48th minute with a short-range shot by Morteza HEIDARI GOURADEL (IRI).

One minute later, Claudio CONTE (ARG) scored for Argentina and allowed the South American team to stay alive in the match.

Finally, Claudio MORINIGO (ARG) tied for Argentina on the 58th minute with a direct free kick.

KERIMIZADEH failed to beat NAHUELQUIN twice, on the 44th and 52nd minutes, when he had to beat only the Argentinian goalkeeper to score the winner.

On Thursday, 21 September, Argentina will play Ireland, and Iran will face the Ukraine.
