Igor Stimac

TEHRANTIMES - Sepahan head coach Igor Stimac believes that his team will have a better performance in the rest of the league games after signing a couple of good players in the winter transfer windows.

“We have signed a couple of good players including an attacking midfielder Senijad Ibricic and a striker Amin Manouchehri. We lacked the cutting edge in the past games but we will improve with the help of our new players,” Stimac told ISNA.

“We had a very good camp in Turkey and played two friendly matches against clubs from Romania and Azerbaijan which helped us a lot,” he added.

“Sepahan and Persepolis are big clubs and their meeting is always interesting. Sepahan is the defending champion and we will go to Tehran to get the three points against Persepolis. I will promise the fans will see an interesting match from both sides,” Stimac added.

Persepolis is currently in 5th place with 29 points while Sepahan stands in 9th place with 24 points. The two teams will meet on Tuesday at Tehran’s Azadi stadium.
