Tehrantimes - Persepolis Honduran striker Jerry Bengtson, who netted a decisive brace on Friday’s 2-0 win over Esteghlal Ahvaz, believes that if he gets more playing time he could score more goals.

“The condition in Ahvaz was awful but the most important thing was to get the three points, I am very happy to score two goals against Esteghlal Ahvaz and now I have more enthusiasm to score more. I think if I get more playing time I can score more,” Bengtson said.

“We need just 9 points to win the title and I think all of the players work hard to achieve it. We had a poor start to the season but step by step we got better and now we are on the verge of winning the title,” he added.

“My contract with Persepolis will expire in May and we’ll see what happens. My agent will talk with the club and if we came to an agreement I’ll stay,” he added.
Persepolis is currently at the top of Iran Professional League with 51 points while three wins in the three remaining games of the league will secure the title for them.
