MNA - Esteghlal defeated Saipa 2-0 on Saturday in the 16th week of the Iran Professional League (IPL) here at the Azadi Stadium.
In front of about 20,000 spectators, the Tehran’s favorite team saw off Saipa to get back to winning ways.

Defender Piruz Ghorbani put Esteghlal ahead in the 66th minute. Saipa keeper Ebrahim Mirzapur punched Bijan Kushki’s cross into the six yards zone and Piruz Ghorbani headed it into the net.

Arash Borhani doubled the score two minutes later. He received the ball from Mehdi Amirabadi and skillfully controlled it in the penalty box and opened the goal.

Amir Ghalenoei’s side jumped to third spot with 28 points, behind Zob Ahan and Peykan with 32 and 29 points respectively.
