 Esteghlal came from behind to a 1-1 draw against Zob Ahan at the Foulad Shahr Stadium. Igor Castro put Zob Ahan in front after nine minutes, opening Esteghlal’s goal following the visitors’ defender Pejman Montazeri’s error to clear the ball across the goal-line. If they could keep this result, Zob Ahan would have moved up in the IPL rankings; but, they were not able to manage the match in the second half. Zob Ahan keeper naively tripped captain Farhad Majidi in the 55th minute and Mojtaba Jabbari converted the penalty to equalize the match. Esteghlal defender Piruz Ghorbani was sent off by the referee Mohsen Torki in the 74th minute, however Zob Ahan failed to take advantage of this. Esteghlal remains on top of the IPL with 58 points one more than Zob Ahan.
