 In 18th round of Iran Professional League (IPL), Mes striker Majid Bajolan scored an early goal in the second minute. Shortly after, Persepolis put the visiting team under pressure and dominated possession for the majority of the first half but lacked that cutting edge. In the 75th minute, Muhammad Nouri equalized the match after receiving an excellent pass from Ali Karimi. Persepolis captain Karimi scored the decisive goal with four minutes remaining from the penalty spot after Nouri was brought down in the penalty area by the Mes defender. “We came back from a goal down to win 2-1. It’s so important and I believe that those players who came off the bench, changed the result,” Persepolis coach Mustafa Denizli said during the post match news conference. Elsewhere, IPL leader Esteghlal lost to Sepasi 2-1 in Shiraz, Traktorsazi beat Damash 3-1 in Tabriz, Malavan and Shahin drew 0-0, Mes of Kerman was held to a 2-2 draw by Sanat Naft in its home game, Foolad was defeated by Zob Ahan 1-0, Rah Ahan saw off Naft 2-1, Sepahan beat Shahrdari 1-0 and Saipa and Saba game finished in a goalless draw. |
