 The league pacesetter brushed aside the host 2-0 at Tabriz's Yadegar Emam stadium on Sunday. Mojtaba Jabbari scored the opener for the Blues from the penalty spot two minute before the break. In the 41st minute of the game, a corner cross sent by Khosro Heidari was handed by Teraktorsazi defender Ehsan Hajsafi and referee Mohsen Torki awarded Esteqlal a penalty kick. Hajsafi did not accept Torki's decision and was sent off. Jabbari doubled his tally in the dying minutes of the match again through a spot kick to seal the victory for the league leader. In other matches of the day, Persepolis and Zob Ahan played out to a scoreless draw, Malavan edged past Saba 1-0, Mes tied 2-2 with Damash, Rah Ahan downed Shahrdari 2-1, it was scoreless between Saipa and Naft Tehran, Sepahan claimed a 1-0 victory over Sepasi, Foulad beat Naft Abadan 2-0, and Shahin defeated Mes Sarcheshmeh with a solo. Esteqlal is now at the top of the standings with 46 points, Sepahan is in second with 43 points and Tractorsazi sits in the third spot with 42 points. |
