Ali Hazemi

PLDC - Barcelos, An 18-year-old Iranian is on his way to Portugal, to become Iran's first player in this country's top division.


Ali Hazami --one of Iran's top youth prospects-- is on his way to one of Europe's top leagues. The 18-year-old winger has received several offers from Portuguese clubs, and even an offer from Asia's most successful club: Pohang Steelers.

This hot prospect was on Foolad's roster for the 2013-14 season, and had the privilege of winning the Iran Pro League title.

Hazami's agent: Tadeu Martins is negotiating with Gil Vicente Futebol Clube, and this player will most likely make his move to this club, which was established in 1924.

Martins told PersianLeague.com, "I would like to invite Adel Ferdosipour from the popular show NAVAD, for an interview regarding this historic transfer.

No Iranian has ever played in Portugal's top division, and Hazami wants to be the first. This young player wants to make the move to Europe early in his career, so that he can develop in Portugal's excellent football system.

Hazami told PersianLeague.com, "I have offers from several countries, but I would like to go to Portugal so I can reach my peak."
