AFC - Iran have remained as Asia's top ranked nation despite falling seven spots to sit 51st overall in FIFA's October rankings and not playing in the recent international break.


Coming off the back of a 4-0 loss to sixth ranked Brazil, Japan also slipped four places but now only sit one spot behind Team Melli in 52nd overall and second in Asia.

Uzbekistan, Korea Republic and Jordan rounded out October's top five despite also all dropping down the rankings.

Iraq and Qatar, who put together three straight wins in the October, were the biggest movers in Asia's top ten both jumping nine places overall to now site in seventh and tenth respectively.

After a scoreless draw with the UAE and 1-0 loss to Qatar, 2015 AFC Asian Cup hosts Australia continued their recent slip down the rankings to now sit as Asia's 11th highest ranked team after dropping to 94th overall.

Germany, Argentina and Colombia remained as the top three ranked sides.

The next chance for Asia's top sides to climb up the rankings and build for Asia's biggest football tournament will be in November.

The international break will include a rematch of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup final between Australia and Japan.
