TEHRANTIMES - American famous sportswear company has shown interest to sign a kit deal with Iran Football Federation, following the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers and lifting sanctions against the Islamic Republic, according to IFF officials.

“Nike showed interest to provide Iran national football team with kits a couple of months ago, but due to U.S. sanctions they couldn’t reach their goals. Now, following the historic nuclear deal and lifting the sanctions a couple of sportswear companies including Puma, Adidas and Nike have contacted us to provide Team Melli with kits,” Iran Football Federation's Chief Marketing Officer, Abbas Torabian, told ISNA.

“Iran has the highest FIFA ranking among the Asian teams and after lifting the sanctions we will definitely receive a lot of offers from big sportswear companies. Nike’s offer is more serious and we will keep negotiating with them in order to reach an agreement,” Torabian added.

Nike sponsors most of the leading clubs in the “big five” – Germany’s Bundesliga, Spain’s La Liga, France’s Ligue 1, Italy’s Seria A, and the biggest prize of all, the English Premier League – than any other brand.
