IRNA - Former player and coach of Shiraz-based Barq, Mohammad Abbassi was installed as the new head coach of the team. Barq managing director told IRNA on Monday: "Following the resignation of Ebrahim Qassempour, Abbassi was selected to do the job thereafter."
Mohammad-Hadi Akbari added during a session attended by members of the club's board of directors, Abbassi who is a local person was picked for the post.
Mohammad Mayeli-Kohan and Hamid Alidousti were also discussed in the meeting but most of the members voted for Abbassi, added the managing director.
Abbassi was a national player of Barq, said Akbari, adding that he helped Barq promote to first division and worked as an assistant coach alongside former manager Asghar Sharafi.
He was an advisor to ex-coach Ebrahim Qassempour and manager of string teams, said the official.
Out of 13 matches, Barq has won 14 points standing in the 10th place of the second Iran Pro League (IPL).
