- National futsal player of Iran and the Asia's best goalscorer, Vahid
Shamsaei, has announced on Tuesday that he has received two invitations from
the powerful Italian clubs Lazio and AS Roma.
Shamsaei told IRNA if his club, Esteqlal, and the country's Futsal Committee
prepare the ground, he will go to Italy after the Asian event in Japan.
The four-time Asian futsal champion, Iran, held the powerful side of Italy
in two friendlies on January 14-15.
Playing in front of over 12,000 passionate flag-waving spectators at the
gymnasium of Azadi Sports Complex, 10km west of Tehran, Iran and Italy tied
3-3 and 5-5 in their matches.
The top goalscorer of Asia, Vahid Shamsaei, stole the show in the second
friendly as he netted four times.
In a press conference held after the match, Alessandro Nuccorini steering
the Italian team praised the skills of Iranian players and the attendance of
huge crowd for a friendly.
He referred to Vahid Shamsaei and playmaker skipper of Iran, Mohammad-Reza
Heidarian as two top players, whose performances are at international level.
Shamsaei believed futsal should be given due attention. He said futsal is
not professional in the country but officials should believe that the
Iranian players are talented and have great capabilities and can make better
successes in international competitions. |
