AFP - Nigeria will host a four-nation tournament
involving Iran and Morocco here from May 30, Nigeria Football Association
(NFA) officials told AFP Tuesday.
World Cup quarter-finalists Senegal are being considered as the fourth
team for the tournament which will end on June 1.
NFA officials said the tournament will be sponsored by electronics company
LG, who lost out in the bid to bankroll the local league recently.
The competition will also serve as a warm-up for the Nigeria team ahead of
their important African Nations Cup qualifier against Malawi on June 7,
since most of the country´s top foreign-based stars will by then be on a
break from their clubs.
