PLDC - Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira criticized the referee’s decisions after suffering defeat against Persepolis of Iran.
Al Sadd of Qatar football team lost to Iran’s Persepolis 1-0 in Group C of the AFC Champions League in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Persepolis will now face the second-placed team from Group A in the Round of 16, while Al Sadd play the winner of the same group.
“We should have at least finished the game with a point. I think we deserved to win the group,” Ferreira said in the post-match news conference.
“I think the referee’s decisions went against us. Our goal was not offside but was ruled out by the referee,” the Portuguese coach said.
“I believe that Persepolis defender (Jalal Hosseini) should have been sent off for a second yellow card for handball but the referee didn’t show him a card,” Ferreira stated.
