Harry Forrester

HITC - Scottish Premiership giants Rangers released Harry Forrester at the end of last season and now he's playing in Iran.

Strangely enough, the Iranian top flight has become a home for a number of former Scottish Premiership attackers of late.

Anthony Stokes and Lee Erwin both moved to the Middle Eastern nation during the summer transfer window. And Harry Forrester soon followed in their footsteps, signing a two-year deal with Tractor Sazi after seeing his Rangers contract cancelled in July.

So far, all three players have enjoyed differing fortunes since making the move to Iran. Former Celtic and Hibernian striker Stokes has nine goals in eight games, eight more than Erwin has scored in the same period.

Forrester, meanwhile, made his second eye-catching move of the summer just weeks after swapping Rangers for the Iran Pro League.

The former Brentford winger made just two appearances for Tractor before bizarrely moving to local rivals Machine Sazi on loan at the beginning of September. And, to make things even stranger, Forrester has not been included in a single match-day squad since, with Machine stuck in the second tier of Iranian football.

Few would have expected when Forrester was released by Rangers, or playing on loan for AFC Wimbledon, that he would end up in the Iranian Azadegan division just a few months later.
