Karimi started his work with Sepidrood as a head coach last season but was forced to leave the team after having problem with Javad Tanzadeh as the owner of the club.

Karimi purchased the shares of the club at the start of the new Iran Professional League season and also works in the team as a head coach.

Sepidrood is struggling in the new season and sits five points above the relegation zone.
