PLDC – Former Persepolis coach Branko Ivankovic says Persepolis has the chance of winning Iran Professional League (IPL) title.

In an exclusive interview with Euronews, Ivankovic said that after only six weeks, it’s too soon to predict who wins the title.

“They have failed to get good results and this needs more analysis. I cannot talk about that because I’m not in the team and have not seen their matches in the previous matches. So, I have no exact information about the team’s situation,” Ivankovic said.

Ex-Al Ahli coach says that Persepolis can return to the title race.

“First of all, I have to say Persepolis has good team and good players but they need more time to coordinate. Persepolis is now five points behind leader Sepahan but there is 24 weeks left. So, there is too soon to predict who will win the title,” the Croat added.

Asked him if there is any chance to return to Persepolis, Ivankovic said, “Not at all at the moment. I have to solve my problems here in Saudi Arabia. I had four outstanding years in Iran and had good relationship with Persepolis fans, the club and the players. It was the best career in my life. However, I cannot return to Persepolis now.”

Under Gabriel Calderon, Persepolis has won three matches and lost three in six matches.
