Mehr News – Zob Ahan of Iran and Bahrain’s Al Riffa fought to a vapid nil-nil tie in an AFC Champions League match in Manama Wednesday night.

Representing Iran in the Asian event, the League Cup champion played a boring, tactic-free football against the purposeless host.

In the 30th minute, Zob’s advancing defender Ebrahim Taqipur dillydallied in the goalmouth, giving his marker enough time and space to hit the ball.

Striker Amir Vaziri owes the fans an apology for his inept performance particularly in the 65th minute when he sent the ball from a close range wide above the crossbar.

Out of two games, Zob Ahan has four points. The Isfahan-based side beat Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan 1-0 in Foladshahr stadium, Isfahan, on Feb. 12.
