Tehran's popular team Persepolis has been held to a 3-3 draw by Shiraz's
Moqavemat-e Sepasi at Azadi Stadium in the Iranian capital.
Before the eyes of 70,000 Red fans, the popular team was stopped by
Moqavemat-Sepasi in the sixth week of the Iranian Premier League.
Mahmoud Mohammadi put Moqavemat ahead in the 7th minute with a penalty
shootout. Mohsen Khalili scored two goals in the 14th and 23rd minutes to
put Persepolis ahead.
Persepolis' Abbas Aqaei scored the third goal for his team in minute 44, but
it was Bahman Tahmasbi's double that caused the match ended 3-3.
Tehran's Esteqlal stopped in Shiraz
Tehran's Esteqlal has been stopped by Barq-e-Shiraz
in the first match of the sixth week of the Iranian Premier League (IPL)
hosted by Shiraz.
The match ended with a 0-0 draw, which placed Barq-e-Shiraz and Esteqlala in
the 6th and 5th positions of the League's ranking table, respectively.
The first half ended as the host was one goal ahead. The goal was scored in
the 3rd minute by Shahram Goudarzi.
The second half began as Esteqlal adopted a more offensive tactic, which
eventually led Modjtabaa Jabbari to score its equalizer in the 68th minute
of the match.
Esteqlal failed to take advantage of the awarded penalty kick in the 28th
minute of the game.
