It’s been confirmed amidst rumours that former Bayern Munich and Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal will be making his way to Iran for the prestigious coaching job for Team Melli. 

Reports reaching us further indicate that Louis van Gaal will be presented with two job offers while he tours Iran.German media reports indicate that Gaal is likely to succeed Carlos Queiroz and proceed to take over as head coach for the Iranian national football team. The 64-year-old Portuguese coach’s contract culminates in February 2019 after the Asian Cup tournament. 

67-year-old van Gaal has the highest possibility as a candidate to take charge of the Iranian football club called Tractor Sazi Tabriz which is today’s richest club playing in the first Iranian league. 

The 67-year-old coach is also a likely candidate to take charge of Iranian football club Tractor Sazi Tabriz, which is currently the wealthiest club in the first Iranian league. 

The Video Reveal 

In a video published recently by the Iranian media, the Ex-Bayern Munich was captured saying that he will be making a trip to Iran very soon. This new attracted a lot of attention from bookmakers with the likes of Bet365 slashing the odds on him joining the Iranian national team.

He was seen gleaming at the camera stating that he was sitting in his friend’s (Salar) car and he is visiting Iran because Salar extended his a welcome call. Van Gaal went on to say that he was curious about Iran and would be glad to mingle with locals.

The Dutchman worked with Manchester United for two seasons and ended getting the boot during the second year a day after he won the FA Cup in 2016. He was immediately replaced by Jose Mourinho who is also having a difficult time with the team as of now.

Since his departure from the English club, van Gaal has not held a managerial post and pundits in Iran are hoping that he agrees to take over management of the national team come February 2019.

Tractor Sazi Tabriz Team 

The First league football club has in the recent past ended their contract with Welshman John Toshack. The club has further gone ahead and recruited Iranian national football captains; Ashkan Dejagah, Masoud Shojaei, and Ehsan Haji Safi.

The Dutchman Louis van Gaal successfully steered the Netherlands’ national football team to the third position during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He was later appointed to head Manchester United club on a three-year contract after the end of the World Cup where he replaced David Moyes who took over from the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson but was unable to fill the huge boots left behind.

Van Gaal began his coaching career at Ajax in 1991. All through his extensive coaching career, he’s had the pleasure of overseeing Barcelona, Az, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United. 

After a disastrous stint in England (As Manchester United head coach), he stayed off football matters and on 17th January 2017 announcements were made that Van Gaal retired from coaching ‘for family reasons.’ Van Gaal came out to state that he was only semi-retiring.
