Ghoddos

Iranian stars in the Premier League have been a rarity, but Saman Ghoddos will be hoping he can compete in England’s top flight next season with Brentford.
The Iran international is in a Bees side that is once again in the mix for promotion from the Championship, and are looking to finally end their wait for Premier League football.

Ghoddos Getting to Grips with Championship

The rigours of the English Championship have been well-documented, and it often takes players a while to adjust to the physical nature of the competition. Brentford boss Thomas Frank has been easing Ghoddos into the competition, and it looks like the 27-year-old could be influential going into the business end of the campaign. Punters might well now be looking at Brentford as promotion contenders this term and there are a host of free bets to be had online, which can be used on outright markets such as Championship winner. A website such as WhoScored can be used to find out more as they provide all the vital information including what specific types of bonuses are and whether they're available only to new customers or also to existing ones. Brentford find themselves in the playoff picture, but will still be hoping they can avoid the drama and finish in the automatic promotion places.

Learning From Wembley Heartbreak

Ghoddos did not feature in the playoff final defeat at the hands of Fulham last season, joining just after the extra-time loss at Wembley. It might well have been a tough dressing room to come into after the disappointment of the previous campaign. Ghoddos had been attracting interest from the Bees over the Channel in France with Amiens, but finally got his chance to compete in England.
Ghoddos, who has 22 caps for Iran, has been able to add some fresh impetus to the Brentford attack and has already chipped in with a few goals for the side. A player with pace and an eye for goal, the Swedish-born forward has also scored two goals for Iran and played in all three of the country’s group games at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Brentford will be determined not to have to go through the emotional roller coaster of the playoffs again this season. It looks like it will once again be a battle for second place, with Norwich City well clear in the title race. Ghoddos will be hoping his game time increases over the coming weeks, in a bid to help Brentford continue their return to form to overcome the likes of Watford and Swansea City for that second spot.

Ghoddos Looking to Join Seagulls Star

There is only one Iranian player currently plying his trade in the Premier League, with Alireza Jahanbakhsh looking to help Brighton avoid the drop this season. The Jirindih-born star has already shown he is more than capable at Premier League level and will be influential in the Seagulls bid to avoid a return to the Championship.
The Iranian national side will only benefit from having more players competing in the English top-flight, and Ghoddos could be the next star to go up against some of the biggest names in European football next season.
