PLDC - Naser Ebrahimi, old hand of
Persepolis, is not happy with the National Team goings-on and has begun to
voice strong objections to the head coach, Ivancovic.
He also spoke about his own club and matters there in a recent interview,
“Ansarian (with broken nose after recent match) has to stop complaining
that he was alone when he broke his nose and mustn’t make an issue of it.
Where else in the world does everyone in the club accompany an injured
player? Usually it is the responsibility of the team physician.”
“Although he wished us to visit him, we had other things to do. If he had
broken an arm or a leg we would have done so. He has now been resting for
three days at home. When ladies operate on their noses do they stay in bed
for 6 days (laughs)?”
“We have nothing to say about who will be the captain of the team. The man
who has played the most games in Persepolis and the National Team will
have the captain’s armband. It is that simple.”
“The National Team did not play badly in the LG tournament. They are the
same as they were during the time of Blazevic, sometimes good, sometimes
bad. The National Team must act in a uniform manner. I must say that
behind the scenes in the National Team something is making problems for
them. This will spread to us in the future too. This new phenomenon is
called ‘Player archy (players having control in a club)’. Where has it
come from? We never had it before now. Now the players may attend practice
sessions if they like and they may make decisions within the club, etc.”
“Look at the case of Ali Daie and Ali Karimi. They wanted Daei to play so
they crossed out Karimi. They could have used both together. Daei may be
great but he will be useful only for another 3 or 4 years and then step
aside. We can use Karimi for longer. Ivancovic did not make the right
decision about this. I believe that he should be dismissed. They should
have done this when Farahani (ex IFF head) resigned. They should do it now
if they want us to win. He cannot do anything for us.”
