PLDC - After the match between Esteghlal and Al Faisali which ended as a 2-0
victory for Esteghlal, here are the comments made by the team members and officials.
Fathollahzadeh, Esteghlal chairman, "The match was tough and hard. The players of Al Faisali were all giants. We were smaller than them
physically but our boys showed them real football in the second half. We will
win the return match too."
Faraz Fatemi Esteghlal striker and scorer of the goal in the 90th minute of the match, "The bad quality of grass at Takhti stadium affected
the performance of both teams. Most of our players are technical and play well on the ground but the grass made them play badly. Yesterday was
one of Esteghlal's bad days but we were fortunate enough to win with the score of 2-0."
Mansourian, Esteghlal player, "It was a good game but it was the first Asian game for Esteghlal and we wanted to get results too quickly. Al
Faisali lost four opportunities to score during the match. We did not have many opportunities to score but we used them more effectively."
Yadollah Akbari, Esteghlal midfielder, "Al Faisali was playing with 7 or 8 of its National Team players. They were in high spirits and were
