MEF - DUBAI, Oct. 22: Trying to fill the
gap of unfit striker Ali Daei, Al-Shabab have signed a two-month contract
with his Iranian national team mate Javad Kazemian, this has been
announced on Tuesday here in Dubai.
The new import, who was largely behind Iran’s recent success in the Asian
Games when scoring the second goal in the final showpiece to floor Japan
2-1, “has agreed a two-month on-loan deal from Saipa to Al-Shabab,” daily
paper Al-Bayan stated today.
Al-Bayan, mentioning “the fee is still undisclosed,” added that “Kazemian
has joined his new team mates in training Monday afternoon, ahead of
Thursday’s cracking outing away from home against league champions and
current table standings leaders Al-Ain.”
Al-Shabab started the league campaign on a low note, being handed a 3-2
defeat in the Dubai derby against bitter enemies Al-Ahly, despite a double
strike netted by veteran forward Ali Daei.
Kazemian’s signing means Al-Shabab are now boasting 3 Iranian players,
including all-round midfielder Mehrdad Minavand, a regular first-choice
player since joining the side last season.
