IRNA - Branco Ivankovic was appointed Tuesday as the head coach of Iran's national soccer team.
Saying the above statement, Iran's Football Federation (IFF) added: "Due to the illness of former head coach of Iran, Miroslav Blazevic, and his written request on resignation, he was replaced by  Croat Ivankovic."
Holding a PhD in physical education, the newly-appointed coach,  47, has over 18 years of experience in coaching different national teams and clubs.             
Ivankovic played in 263 official matches between 1971 and 1983.
