PLDC - Mohammad Maeilikohan (ex-head coach of Saipa) is apparently the first choice for Esteghlal Ahwaz who has not had a coach since the start of the season. The officials of the club want to continue being in the Professional League and this is their reason for their delay in the choice of coach (who must ensure their prolonged stay in the league). Their choices of coach at present are limited to one or two.

In the latest meeting held between Meibodi, chairman of Esteghlal Ahwaz, and Maeilikohan all the team problems and issues were discussed among them the fact that the club is suffering from many weaknesses which need time to be taken care of. A number of promises were then given to Maeilikohan who does not seem very optimistic about joining the club. Maeilikohan is unwilling to sign up without workable guarantees which the
club seems unable to offer him.

The chairman of Esteghlal Ahwaz is hopeful about the results of the talks and has expressed that until the time Maeilikohan has made up his mind he will not be considering anyone else.
