PLDC - In a recent press interview, head coach of Malavan Anzali (Bahman Salehnia) said, “Malavan is forced to play 4 important matches within a period of 15 days and that’s unfair.” This criticizm comes in the wake of the intensive planning of the Professional League and Elimination Cup matches for Malavan Anzali.

He added that Malavan would face Persepolis (in Tehran) in the Elimination Cup on 30/11/2002 and on 3/12/2002 they would play against Esteghlal Tehran (in Tehran) in the Professional League. On the 8/12 Malavan would then be agianst Abu Moslem (in Anzali) and on 13/12 they were playing Foolad Khouzestan (in Ahwaz).”

Salehnia assured the Federation that his club would go through with this schedule to comply and cooperate with them, but it would be difficult for Malavan to play all four matches. The fact that the games were against the top teams of the country is also thought of as strange. salehnia thinks that even the best teams in Iran could not manage such a tough program.
