PLDC - The eleven players banned from playing in the 7th week of the Iranian Professional League are as follows.

Sepahan wins 2-0 and widens gap

PLDC - Peykan faced Sepahan of Esfahan at home and lost the match with the result of 2-0 in the 7th week of the Iranian Professional League. In a very exciting match full of attacks and counters Sepahan presented a fine performance and proved it was on the winning streak and meant to stay at the top.

Kazemian star of Al Ahli in 3-1 win vs. Ittihad Kalbaa

TMDC - Javad Kazemian was the star of Al Ahli Club of Dubai , as his team maintained their top of the UAE league position after defeating AL Ittihad of Kalbaa 3-1. The first goal was scored by Al Ahli in the forst half with a perfect free kick taken by Kazemian which left no hope for the Kalbaa goalkeeper.

AFC - Together with Denmark and Uruguay, Iran have been invited to play in the annual Carlsberg Cup to be held in Hong Kong next year.

Pourheidari unluckiest coach of season

PLDC - Mansour Pourheidari, head coach of Sanat Naft of Abadan, is having the hardest season of his life facing controversy about himself and his team, repeated losses and the weekly injury of one or two of his key players plus other pressures. Most of the players injured have been defenders, which is why the team has been losing in the past few weeks.

Bayani, “Esteghlal plays more logically”

PLDC - According to Shahrokh Bayani, veteran Iranian player, Esteghlal Tehran has improved since Ronald Koch, head coach, took over the club and the team plays a finer and more logical game. He is not only in support of the German coach but says that the team will improve in the future.

Bargh will try to defeat Esteghlal

PLDC - The chairman of Bargh Shiraz football club and Member of Parliament of the city, Sazergarnezhad, commented on the club and their 7th week Professional League match against Esteghlal Tehran. He said, “Bargh will face Esteghlal Tehran on Saturday, 14/12/2002, and we intend to play with all our might to win.

Some of players wanted to matches disposed of out of Abadan.

PLDC - Following the attack of some spectators to the cloakroom of Sanat-Naft after the match between Peykan and Sanat-Naft that drew 0-0, some of Sanat-Naft’s players wanted to play in another city.

Jordan unfazed over Iranian confrontation in Asian Cup qualifiers

MEF - Jordan manager Mahmoud El-Gohary stressed his satisfaction towards the Asian Cup qualifying draw, the Egyptian coach having his side being paired in Group 4 against giants Iran, Lebanon and either North Korea and India who are expected to battle out for one ticket in the preliminary round.

Best of the third week of the League

PLDC - In the sixth week of the professional Iranian League 8 goals were scored by the teams. Of the 7 matches played, four were draws and Pas and Zaob Ahan scored the highest number of goals, each two.

Fatemi upset with 0-0 draw

PLDC - In the 6th week of the Iranian Professional League, Esteghlal Tehran faced Foolad Khouzestan, on Sunday, 8/12/2002, and drew with the result of 0-0. After the match, Faraz Fatemi, Esteghlal striker commented, “I am really upset because we could not score no matter how hard we tried.
