Tehran Times - Amirhossein Peyrovani says they are ready to take on Cost Rica in their opening match of the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup.

The Iranian team have been scheduled to meet Costa Rica in Group C of the competition at the Jeju World Cup Stadium in Seogwipo, South Korea on Sunday.

“We played two friendly matches with Senegal as part of preparation for the FIFA U20 World Cup. Now, we are ready for the match against Costa Rica, both physically and mentally. We traveled to South Korea a week earlier for dealing with time change,” Peyrovani said.

“I wish all the best for Iran U20 football team in the competition. Costa Rica are a good team and we’ve analyzed them very well,” he added.

Iran have been drawn along with Portugal, Cost Rica and Zambia in Group C.

The 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup is the 21st edition of the FIFA U20 World Cup, the biennial international men's youth football championship contested by the under-20 national teams of the member associations of FIFA, since its inception in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Championship.

The tournament is hosted by South Korea between 20 May and 11 June 2017.
