PTV - Tehran's popular soccer team Persepolis offers the former Iranian coach Ali Daei the position of club manager, possibly replacing Zlatko Kranjcar.

“We are holding a meeting with Ali Daei on Monday,” acting director of the Persepolis club, Habib Kashani, told fans on Saturday.

“We hope to have constructive talks with him,” he went on to say.

Kashani further pointed out that the club has yet to make a decision about the current Croatian manager.

“We haven't talked to Mr Kranjcar yet and no decision has been made about him,” Kashani explained.

Iran's Football Federation (IFF) selected world record holder Daei to be the national team's coach on March 2.

The 40-year-old Daei, however, was sacked in late March after Iran suffered a humiliating 2-1 defeat against Saudi Arabia in its fifth 2010 World Cup qualifier. The game was played at Tehran's Azadi Stadium with about 100,000 fans in attendance.
