AFC - Qatar’s Al Sadd scored four times in just 14 minutes at the start of the second half to secure an emphatic 4-1 comeback win over Iran’s Mes Kerman in the AFC Champions League on Wednesday.

Mes’ returning Brazilian striker Edinho netted after 21 minutes at Sheik Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium to hand the visitors a half-time lead.

But a quick-fire brace after the break from Al Sadd’s in-form Brazilian forward Leandro swung the game in the favour of the home side before Felipe Jorge’s sublime chip left Mes Kerman stunned after just five minutes of the second-half played.

And following good work from Leandro, Talal Al Baloushi sealed Al Sadd’s second win of the campaign just before the hour mark.

Felipe Jorge signalled the home side’s intent after just eight minutes as the Brazilian’s shot just cleared the crossbar before Leandro chipped over the target following a storming run and the fingertips of Mes goalkeeper Saman Safa denied Yusef Ahmed.

But despite Al Sadd’s impressive start, Mes opened the scoring against the run of play as home defender Tahir Zakariya missed an attempted diving header just outside the area and Edinho raced clear to beat goalkeeper Mohamed Saqr after 20 minutes.

Al Sadd, though, re-grouped at half-time and in just the first minute after the break Leandro, who plundered a hat-trick in the 5-0 win against Al Ahli two weeks ago, slid in at the back post to turn in Hasan Al Haydos’s cross.

And just three minutes later Al Sadd snatched the lead in fortunate circumstances as Leandro’s powerful header struck the post and eventually crossed the line after deflecting through Safa’s legs.

And with the crowd still celebrating the dramatic turnaround, Al Sadd captain Felipe Jorge surprised Safa with a superb chip from all of 35 yards with the custodian stranded just inside his penalty area.

Eight minutes later Leandro reacted after Mes had only partially dealt with a corner and the Brazilian hooked the ball across the face of goal for Al Baloushi to volley home Al Sadd’s fourth goal after just 14 second half minutes.
