MNA - Paykan football team thrashed Persepolis in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Saturday.

Struggling Paykan defeated Persepolis 3-0 at the Shahid Rajaei Stadium.
It was Persepolis’ third straight loss in IPL. Ali Daei’s team had already lost to Mes of Kerman and Sepahan of Isfahan.
 
Alireza Abbasfard gave Paykan the lead in the 15th minute and Meysam Rezapour scored again for Paykan in the 27th minute.

Persepolis put Paykan under pressure in the second half but failed to score and eventually Jahangir Askari opened the Tehran-based team’s goal for the third time with a long-range shot in the added time.
 
Zob Ahan retained the top place of the IPL table by beating Steel Azin 2-0 in Tehran while Sepahan of Isfahan defeated Saipa 4-1. Mes of Kerman beat Rah Ahan 2-0 and stayed in third place and Naft of Tehran was held to a 2-2 draw by Shahin of Bushehr in its home.
