PTV - Iranian referee Mohsen Torki has been selected to judge the 70th Tehran derby between archrivals Esteqlal and Persepolis in the 28th week of Iran Premier League (IPL).

Torki will be assisted by Heydar Shakour and Reza Sokhandan, and Alireza Faghani will be acting as the fourth official during the Wednesday clash of the titans at Tehran's Azadi Stadium.

It is the third time that Torki is refereeing the match which is said to be the most important derby in Asia and 22nd most important derby in the world.

There have been 69 competitive first-class matches between the two since the first league meeting in 1970, of which Esteqlal has won 21 and Persepolis 17.

In the IPL standings, Sepahan is leading the way with 55 points, and powerhouse Zob Ahan is now second with 53 points, four points adrift of Esteqlal which is third.

Teraktorsazi is fourth on 46 points, and the Reds sit fifth with 44 points.
