MNA - Persepolis trounced Zob Ahan in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday while pacesetter Sepahan was defeated in an away game against Mes of Kerman.

Persepolis beat IPL powerhouse Zob Ahan 3-0 in Fooladshahr Stadium. Zob Ahan played attacking football in the first half but conceded a late goal. Unmarked Amir-Hossein Feshangchi found the back of the net in the injury time.
The Isfahan-based team kept control of the ball in the second half but Persepolis striker Vahid Hashemian extended the visitors’ lead from a counterattack in the 66th minute. Mohammad Nouri rubbed salt into Zob Ahan’s wounds four minutes later.

“I am very satisfied with the way my players performed against Zob Ahan,” Persepolis coach Ali Daei said during a post match news conference.

Sepahan was defeated by Mes 3-2 in Kerman’s Bahonar Stadium. Brazilian Edinho put Mes in the lead in the 18th minute but Ibrahima Toure equalized the match two minutes later.

Edinho scored once again in the 26th minute and Keivan Amraei scored Mes’s third goal in the 65th minute. Sepahan defender Hadi Aghili pulled a goal back in the 80th minute.
