MNA - Esteghlal skipper Farhad Majidi has been named Iran’s “Footballer of the Year”, in an internet poll taken by the popular Monday night Iranian channel-3 TV program “90”.

Majidi won 41 percent of the votes in the six-candidate race. Persepolis midfielder Mohammad Nouri came second with 31 percent, Foolad striker Reza Noruzi became third with 9 percent of total votes, Saipa striker Karim Ansarifard came fourth with 8 percent, Sepahan keeper Mehdi Rahmati finished at fifth place scoring 7 percent, and Zob Ahan midfielder Ghasem Haddadifar finished last with 4 votes.

Majidi scored 10 goals for Esteghlal in the Iran Professional League. The 34-year-old striker has won 43 caps for Iran football team and scored 10 goals.
