Starafrica - Officials of the Nigerian football Federation have revealed that a friendly earlier scheduled to hold this month against Iran has been cancelled.

"The match will no longer be played after the match agent could not pull it through," a top official disclosed yesterday.

The game was supposed to hold on April 18, immediately after the Eagles friendly against Egypt. In 2010, another planned friendly against Iran was called off and the Iranians had to ask for compensation for breach of contract.

Nigeria are expected to face Peru next month as well as Gabon in other scheduled friendlies as they get set for crucial qualifiers in June.
