KABIR - Eamon Zayed, the Libyan footballer of Persepolis FC, says he is counting down the time for the upcoming Tehran derby.

“Actually we didn’t play very well in the first four games of the new season. We have experienced a lot of changes in team but I believe we need more time to adapt with the new situations because we have better squad in compare to the previous season.” Eamon Zayed talked about the current conditions of Persepolis FC.

“Im counting down the time for Tehran derby. It was six months ago when I scored three goals for my side against Esteghlal FC. I can still remember those moments and I won’t forget that special night. But Im not sure if it happens in this match too because we had changes as Esteghlal did. I hope we will win the game and I will score the winning goal.” Eamon Zayed said.

The next Tehran derby between Esteghlal FC and Persepolis to be held on 24/08/12.

On 2 February 2012, Eamon Zayed came on as a substitute in his second appearance, in the Tehran derby with Persepolis being reduced to 10 men and 2-0 behind. He scored in the 82nd minute to make it 2-1 with a beautiful right-footed curling shot. Two minutes later he headed home an angled cross to level the game. In the 92nd minute of the match Zayed left two defenders for dead in a counter-attack move and put Persepolis into a 3-2 lead in dramatic style to be the first non-Iranian player to net a hat-trick in the Tehran derby.
