KABIR - Stephen Appiah, Ghanaian football midfielder, is happy with his presence in Iran. He recently penned a contract with Tehran based club, Persepolis FC. He has been in Tehran from three days ago but he has positive view from Iran. Undoubtedly Stephen Appiah is one of the most famous football players join Iranian clubs.

“Actually I didn’t have any information from Iran’s football before receiving an offer from Persepolis FC. Now I know Persepolis FC is one of the most popular and biggest football clubs in Iran and Asia and it has a large number of fans.” Stephen Appiah said.

“Every player dreams about playing in front of 100,000 fans in home and I’m counting the time for that experience. I had a fantastic time with Fenerbahçe’s fans in Turkey. I feel good when I review my memories from Turkey. Now I can imagine a better time and experience with Iranian fans.” Stephen Appiah continued.

“Before transferring to Persepolis FC, I received several offers from Emirates base clubs. But I think this was not a suitable time to go UAE because I want to play football and currently I’m not playing for money.” Appiah added.

Appiah was a member of the Ghana national team, which he has represented at the youth, Olympic, and senior levels. He captained Ghana at their World Cup debut in 2006 and was a member of their squad for the 2010 World Cup. He used to play for Udinese, Parma, Juventus, Fenerbahçe, Bologna and Cesena too.
