PTV - Iranian football club Abu Moslem has claimed an extra-time victory over visiting Saba in the in the last-16 round of Iran's Knockout (Hazfi) Cup.


The game, played at Saamen al-Aemeh Stadium on the outskirts of the northeastern city of Mashhad on Friday, had ended goalless in 90 minutes.

Farzad Hamidi from Abu Moslem, however, opened the scoring 21 minutes into extra time to put the hosts ahead.

Saeed Haqjou then drew the game level in the 115th minute, but, with only three minutes remaining, Younes Shakeri scored the winner for Abu Moslem.

The referee, Ahmad Salehi, flashed a red card in the closing stages of the match, dismissing Saba striker Majid Heidari from the turf for a second bookable offense. Saba coach Mahmoud Fekri was also sent off in the second half of extra time.

Karim Eslami and Saeed Lotfi from Saba and Javad Zeiqami from Abu Moslem also received yellow cards.
