PFDC - Two late goals by substitutes Vahid Hashemian and Peter Graulund rescued a point for VFL Bochum in Mönchengladbach. Hashemian, who showed a pleasing performance, is now again German Bundesliga's top joker of this season, with already 4 goals.

The first 10 minutes of the match were dominated by the guest team, who had to lineup young goalkeeper Vander for the injured standard keeper van Duijnhoven. A goal from defender Fahrenhorst was denied due to a foul of teammate Kalla and Bochum's topscorer Christiansen, who showed a rather weak performance today, missed a good opportunity after a cross from German national team player Freier. From then on Borussia Mönchengladbach put Bochum under pressure, but keeper Vander saved his tam on several occasions. However, best chance of the first half was missed by Freier, whose shot from insde the box after a nice individual effort, went over the bar.

In a more entertaining second half, Bochum was shocked by two early goals from the host side within three minutes. Igor Demo (56.) and Jouris van Hout (59.) were able to beat Vander. Bochum was shocked and for a long time it looked as if they would not be able to recover.

Bochum's coach Neururer brought Vahid Hashemian for midfielder Tapalovic and later left winger Graulund for Buckley. Those two subsitututes proved to be crucial for the first time in minute 85. Graulund sent a square pass from left side into the box, where  Hashemian had sneaked away from his marker and directly put the ball into the net from short range. It was the 4th goal of the season for the Iranian striker.

While Bochum pushed forward, Mönchenglabach found the space for counter attacks. One of them turned into a great chance, but van Houdt's shot was saved by the post. On the other side it was again Hashemian who shocked the homeside, but his shot after a good individual effort at the edge of the box went wide. Finally in injury time, a ball from the right side found Graulund deep inside the box, who, with a combination of luck and skill, was able to keep the ball against two defenders and the keeper and then had little problem scoring the equalizer for his team.

Bochum is now in 8th position of the table, 11 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
