PLDC - In the 6th week of the Iranian Professional League, on Sunday, 8th December, Esteghlal of Tehran drew with Foolad Khouzestan at home with the score of 0-0. The match was refereed by Massoud Moradi. The team were both very active and pressed each other but there were not many threatening shots on either goal mouth during the match. The liveliest part of the game was in the first 25 minutes of the first half. Esteghlal managed to be in more control at the end of the first half which ended without any goals scored after 2 minutes of injury time.

In the 50th minute of the match Davood Dehghani of Estehglal was given a yellow card for his foul on a Foolad player. More concentrated attacks and counters began from the 75th minute of the match and both teams kept threatening each other. Despite being in control at the end of the second half, Esteghlal could not achieve results but became very close to scoring on two occasions. For a foul on Vahdei Nikbakht of Esteghlal, Saman Moosavi of Foolad is sent off with a red card. The free kick awarded for the foul and shot by Bakhtiyarizadeh rebounded off the goal post.

Foolad played an effortless match with very few mistakes which was the reason why Esteghlal did not manage to break through the defences of the opponents. This logical game proved the capabilities of the head coach of Foolad Khouzestan, Vingo Begovic.

Esteghlal is now 4th in the league table with 8 points and above the other three teams with the same points because of goal difference. Foolad is now in 6th place and exactly equal with Saipa in all aspects with 8 points.
