Fifaworldcup - Korea Republic and Iran have rescheduled their Asian Cup qualifier from 1 March to early September to allow them to better prepare for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™.

The two teams are set to meet in a Group B Asian Cup qualifying match in Korea Republic, but they have followed the example of fellow FIFA World Cup contenders Australia, Japan and Saudi Arabia by rescheduling the game.

The 2007 Asian Cup Organising Committee gave FIFA World Cup teams the option of pushing back their qualifying matches, the Asian Football Confederation reported on its website.

The first round of qualifying matches get underway on 22 February.
