Today, two games were played in the Iranian Premier League. Saipa's performance proved that many have underestimated Mayeli Kohan's squad. Although Saipa has ran into many problems with their players, they have still managed to bounce back and make 2 good performances. They entered this match with a good amount of confidence after getting a tie from Persepolis in their previous match. Mehdi AmirAbadi, who recently turned 23, scored both of the goals (26 and 42) today to give saipa a 2-1 win over Sepahan of Esfahan. Sepahan's single goal came in the 70th minute by their striker Edmond Bezik. Saipa is now up to 11th place with 14 points. Sepahan is still in 3rd place with 21 points, although tomorrows games could change all of that. Much deserved credit should be given to Mayeli Kohan for getting his team back on track.

The other game of the day, was between Pas of Tehran and Bargh of Shiraz. Pas, once again shows that they underestimate their opponents. This time they tie Bargh of Shiraz at home. Bargh was ahead in this game until the 85th minute when the veteran striker, Mohsen Garousi, tied the game, 1-1. Pas has done very well against the powerhouses of IPL, as they beat Perspolis, Peykan and Esteghlal once already. But they have had a couple poor performances too, by tying Malavan (Bandar Anzali), TeraktorSazi (Tabriz), and now Bargh of Shiraz. Pas is currently in 5th place with 20 points, and Bargh Shiraz moves up to 9th place with 17 points.

Tomorrows games, are as follows:

Esteghlal(Tehran)-Malavan(Bandar Anzali)

Teraktor Sazi(Tabriz)-Foolad(Ahvaz)

Zobahan(Esfahan)-Peykan(Tehran)

Esteghlal Rasht-AbooMoslem (Mashad)

Zobahan-Peykan game is the game of the week as we see the 4th and 7th place teams go at it. If Peykan wins their match, they can move into as high as 4th place, if Zobahan wins that game, they can move into 3rd place, even 2nd place if they win by a margin of 3 or more. The game between these two teams is much anticipated.
