Tasnim – Abdollah Veisi has been sacked by Iranian Sepahan football club on Friday.

The Isfahan-based team made the shock decision to sack Veisi while the coach is now bedridden in hospital.

Former Sepahan coach Zlatko "Cico" Kranjcar has been lined up to replace Veisi, the local media reported.

Under guidance of Kranjcar, Sepahan won Iran Professional League in 2012 and claimed the title of Iran’s Hazfi Cup one year later.

Veisi was appointed as Sepahan coach in May 2016 with signing a four-year contract.

Sepahan now sits seventh in IPL table, 34 points adrift of leader Persepolis.
