TEHRANTIMES - Persepolis football team suffered its sixth defeat in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Monday.


The Reds lost to Trakror Sazi 1-0 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

The visiting team was the better team in the second half and put Persepolis under pressure.

In the 77th minute, Mehdi Seyed Salehi narrowly escaped the offside trap and opened Persepolis goal.

Traktor Sazi moved to sixth spot with 28 points and Pesrepolis stayed 11th with 21 points.

Elsewhere, Sepahan was held to a 1-1 draw by Aluminum, 10-man Saipa drew 2-2 with rock-bottom Gahar, Mes was held to a goalless draw by Saba, Paykan and struggling Sanat Naft played out a goalless draw, Foolad defeated Naft 3-1, Zob Ahan lost its home game 3-2 to Malavan and Rah Ahan edged Sepasi 1-0.

Damash, Esteghlal match, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday, has been rearranged for Wednesday after the Tehran-based team could not travel to Rash, northern of Iran, due to air problems.
