Iran v Lebanon

TEHRANTIMES - Carlos Queiroz said that he has no sense of revenge when Iran will play Lebanon in the AFC Asian Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

Group B leader Iran will face Lebanon in Beirut and needs just a single point to book a place in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

Iran lost to Lebanon 1-0 last year in a World Cup qualifier at Beirut City Sportive stadium.

“Our primary objective is to win the match and qualify for the AFC Asian Cup. I have no sense of revenge because these kinds of words don’t mean in football,” Carlos Queiroz said in the pre-match news conference.

“We need to show our commitment to winning the match in their soil. It was our fault we lost to Lebanon last year. The quality of pitch was not good but there is no excuse,” the 60-year-old Portuguese added.
