MNA - The Ukrainian Football Federation has apologized to its Iranian counterpart for their cancellation of a warm-up match on August 11 and requested that two matches be set for February and September 2011.

“In response to our objection to the cancellation of the warm-up match on August 11, the Football Federation of Ukraine has apologized to us,” director of the International Relations Committee of Iran Football Federation said.

“In this letter signed by the vice-president of FFU Volodymyr Lashkul, they want us to arrange two friendly matches in the February and September 2011,” Abbas Torabian added.  
 
The Iranian Football Federation announced on Saturday that Iran is to play Armenia instead of Ukraine on August 11.
 
The three-time Asian champion is preparing itself for the AFC Asian Cup which will be held in Qatar in January 2011.
